Who I Am

Hi, I’m Dr. Meredith Atkenson, founder of Made Resilient Physical Therapy and Sports Performance.

I became a physical therapist because I believe movement is one of the most powerful tools we have to heal, grow, and live fully. Over the years, I’ve seen too many people sidelined by pain, slowed down by injury, or confused by the overwhelming amount of fitness and rehab advice online. My mission is simple: to cut through that noise and provide care that is personal, evidence-based, and empowering.

My Background

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy – Marquette University

  • Orthopedic Residency – Northwestern University

  • Manual Therapy Fellowship – Northwestern University, Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT)

  • Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS)

  • Former Head Physical Therapist for Loyola University Chicago Athletics

  • Certified Lymphedema Therapist, with a growing passion for oncology rehabilitation

These experiences have shaped my belief that resilience looks different for everyone. For an athlete, it might mean returning to sport stronger than before. For someone recovering from illness, it could mean reclaiming independence and confidence. And for many, it simply means moving through life with less pain, more energy, and greater strength to face whatever challenges arise.

Why Made Resilient

I started Made Resilient to create a space where people feel heard, cared for, and challenged to grow. Every session is one-on-one, so you get my full attention. My approach combines advanced manual therapy, targeted exercise, and education you can trust.

At its core, this clinic is built on the idea that resilience isn’t something you’re just born with—it’s something you can develop, practice, and strengthen. My goal is to help every patient not only recover from today’s setbacks, but also become resilient for tomorrow’s challenges.

Because you were made to be resilient.
